Alpha Course starts January 18th| 7th December 2006
There will be a 10 week Alpha Course in Bramley starting on January 18th
There will be another Alpha Course starting on January 18th, and running every Thursday for 10 weeks.
The Alpha Course is a great platform for non and new Christians to come together to discuss their faith in a friendly 10 week course. Millions of people around the world have taken the course.
So What is The Alpha Course?
Alpha is a course that originally started from Holy Trinity in Brompton, London aimed at giving people a place where they can talk about faith, religion and life in a friendly and safe environment. The course is now run in hundreds of churches all round the UK and the World.
What Happens Each Thursday?
The evening usually starts around a light meal prepared by the Alpha team. The meal is a great way for you to relax and meet the other people on the course, to catch up on life and to chill out before adjourning to a comfy room to discuss the evening topic.
After the meal we usually start with a short 20 minute video that talks about a particular subject for the week, after which we open the evening to discussion and debate. There is an 'Alpha Weekend' part way through the course. This is usually just a saturday set aside half way through the course to explore the topics in more depth than the usual short evening will allow. Many people who attend the weekend admit that to be their favourite date o the course.
Thursdays starts at 7.30pm and ends at 9.45pm
How Much Does It Cost?
Alpha is a FREE course, no money is expected. Some who attend like to contribute a pound or two to the food each week but this is not expected - others like to bring cake for pudding :) hmmmm, lovely - but not expected.
What Happens After The Course?
Believe it or not, many people carry on meeting weekly to continue their discussions, or meet with their new friends. Others have attended the course again.
